Wheels4Life
We are working as ambassadors for Wheels4Life – a charity that provides bicycles for people in Third-World countries in need of transportation to get to work or to school, including health care workers and teachers.
This charity was founded by extreme biking legend and former Mountain Bike World Champion Hans Rey.
We are looking out for communities where bicycles could improve the lives of those without a form of transport, and giving them the gift of mobility. So far we have supplied bicycles to social projects in India, and we’re always on the lookout for more.
The Wilderness Foundation
“The project has dramatically boosted my confidence and I now feel able to be myself. Where I was once reserved I now feel able to talk to people about my problems which has helped me to give up alcohol that I was using as a defence mechanism to block things out.” (Toni, TurnAround participant)
The Wilderness Foundation is a small UK charity promoting the social value of the world’s last remaining wild areas.
Their TurnAround project uses wilderness trails in the Scottish Highlands as a means to rehabilitate vulnerable youngsters from urban areas.
We aim to fundraise as much as possible for the WFUK during and after the expedition.
