Re: the 721 rim - it's designed for 2.3 - 3.0 inch downhill tyres, not the 2.0-inch high pressure touring tyres we were running, that's probably what did it....

Dude, that's bad! Hope things are getting better now. I've just brought a new Mavic EX721 rim!!! Maybe I should rethink. :)

hey guys
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, right??! I've managed to live for three weeks on 40 quid, god knows how but if I can do it, I'm def sure you two can. How exciting to finally be Asia, that's an AWESOME accomplishment and after only like 5 months... Well keep smiling and I'm sure you'll meet even more fantastic, friendly people as you've proved they are out there! xxx

Oh Tom!!! At least it gives you some really good fodder for your readers!! Hope you are coping and that good fortune will soon shine on you both again. Look forward to hearing your voice again on the phone. I thought the latest podcast was the best so far in terms of balance and variety of interest and emotions. Stay calm, keep well, lots of love, Dad x

Definitely a disasterous turn of events bro, not really what you need especially when you're trying to cycle round the world! Things will soon be straightened out though I'm sure and you'll feel better when you're back on the road for definite.
Good to hear from you yesterday by the way, the call was great. Me and our mother were watching the new Podcast at the time (needless to say she was crying), so it was a bit of a coincidence you called then.
You'll have to let us know when plans for the next leg of the trip develop and what will be happening at Christmas.
Been checking out the Flickr pictures on a regular basis as well. They're all excellent! Keep them all coming.

See you soon,
Ben

Oh Tom,
Aarrgh! And I only knew the half of it - life can be so disheartening at times but I know you have the mental capacity to pick yourself up, brush yourself down and think positively about the time ahead. Hope all is sorted satisfactorily. You have had so many amazing experiences - both good and bad. Keep on pedalling. Our thoughts are always with you. Take good care. Keep safe.
Lots of love xxxxx
